What a full week we've had...morning meetings, Chinese, Music, reading workshop, writing workshop, P.E, library, unit of study, mathematics, outside play...just to name a few of the things that have kept us busy!
We have finally started to use our beautiful placemats. The children tried weaving with strips of magazine pages and either black or white paper, and the results are beautiful!
We did a lot of thinking about animals, starting with the ones that live in Singapore. It was a bit challenging at first, but we came up with a pretty good list, which I'm sure we'll continue to add to. We found out about pangolins, a shy creature that is native to Singapore that most of us had never heard of.
We also started a collaborative mural. We thought about the animals in Singapore that can be found on the leaves of trees, and made sure we included some of those.
We saw a puppet show in the library-what great listening in these photos!
We also saw a photo exhibit that included pictures submitted by students, teachers and parents across the school.
We discussed what we saw, how some of the pictures made us feel, and wondered how the photographers captured some of the images. Did they take the pictures from above or below their subjects? Were they at eye level? What a great lead in to thinking more critically about how we take photos. Of course, the children were keen to experiment once we got back to our class.
Every week in K2 is different- the children ask different questions, make new discoveries, face new challenges. What will next week bring? I can't wait to see!

- Friday, 18th of March is our next Spirit Day! The children are invited to come to school dressed up as what they would would like to be when they grow up.
