Did you know that banana peels, apple cores and other fruit and vegetable scraps can be turned into compost that can help gardens grow? We learned about this at our K2 assembly this morning.
Ms Lane, a G5 teacher, was our special guest this morning. She told us how much compost can help the school garden. We now have a red compost bin in our K2 pod and some children already put in some things to be composted!
We also had a look at the trash from our garbage bins. We noticed that a lot of the things that were thrown away really didn't need to be. We saw things that could be re-used, recycled or even composted.
Recycle means turn something old into something new. - Simran

We know that Singapore is a small place with a lot of people and a lot of trash. Next week we will work on taking some action to help with the problem of trash!
