Gong Xi Fa Cai!

(Sorry- I just realised that I never hit "publish" on this blog post from before the break!)

There was a buzz in the air this week! The excitement about the upcoming school break and festivities related to Asian Arts and Culture Week and Chinese New Year made for a very packed five days!

The Lion Dance that we saw in the Main Plaza on Monday inspired the children in the dance and music passion groups to create their very own Lion Dance! The collaboration between them was amazing, and the audience and I were very impressed with their performance.

The other passion groups were also hard at work creating, discovering and documenting...

Varun, who is in our G4 buddy class, talked to us about his passion, dancing.

Thanks to Nobue and Ryoko, the children made some delicious treats. It was such a nice way for them to think of someone special in their lives for Valentine's Day.

The children also made some lovely Year of the Monkey cards with their G4 buddies.

We ended off the week with a trip to a Middle School art room. It was great to have a tour of the art areas used by the older students at our school. We even saw the kilns where our coil pots will be fired!

The children loved trying some new painting techniques and did some observational drawing, too. Thanks, Sarah!

Wishing you all a wonderful Year of the Monkey! See you in a week's time.
